Microsoft Surface Duo Apidroid

Microsoft unveiled its new 'duo' in the current surface series. Surface Duo has twin-touchscreens of 5.6 inches each and 4.8 mm thin which will open like a book.

Two different foldable display make this device easy to carry which can fit in your pocket also. It will act as a mobile phone and is able to make telephone calls and can run android applications as well.

The Surface Duo will run a special version of Android with Google having some custom APIs. Microsoft says that they will work with developers to leverage the devices' dual displays.

It is expected to be powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and might be loaded with smartphone sensors like accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor. Additional features include WiFi, Bluetooth and USB Type C port. 

This device is expected to be released in the holiday season next year 2020 with more additional features and advancement.

Dominated by Apple's iOS and Google's Android, Microsoft struggled in making Mobile phone market and acquired Finland based Nokia in 2014. Microsoft ultimately failed in establishing Windows mobile operating system and its last phone was Lumia 650(with Window OS). After the launch of Surface Duo, Microsoft argued that building on the Android mobile operating system provides a good foundation for Duo and can help replace larger devices such as tablets and laptops in many cases.
