Xiaomi has announced 80W fast wireless charging technology in the fast charging war through a post on Chinese micro-blogging website, Weibo. The company claims that this technology can charge a 4,000mAh battery in just 19 minutes and upto 50% in just 8 minutes. But phone that supports 80W wireless charging was not announced by the company. Xiaomi also shared a video of 80W wireless charging in action with a modified Mi 10 Pro on its YouTube channel.


The Weibo post by Xiaomi comes with a poster that states 80W wireless technology. The company has not shared which phone will come with support for 80W wireless charging and no specific date of launch. Xiaomi feel wired charging cable will no longer be useful in future and wireless charging takes its place.

The video on Xiaomi YouTube's channel shows the technology in action on a modified Mi 10 Pro and 80W fast charging speed. It shows the phone going from 0 to 10 percent in just 1 minute, 10 to 50 percent in 8 minutes, and then to 100 percent in just 19 minutes. The Weibo post show a modified Mi 10 Pro is placed on a stand with wireless fast charging.


Xiaomi has not announced when a phone with 80W wireless fast charging will actually ship, but it shouldn’t be too far off. That's all the information given by company. The company has consistently released phones with higher wireless charger over the past couple of years.

Back in March, the company shows its 40W wireless charging technology. In May, it launched the Mi 30W Wireless Charger and then in August, it released the Mi 10 Ultra with support for 50W wireless charging and 120W fast wired charging and also launched its 55W wireless charging. Then in September, it released power bank with 30W wireless charging. Now it's October, it releasing 80W wireless charging.
