Xiaomi introduced their new charging technology which is Mi air charge this Friday. According to the company, it is "remote charging technology" that can charge multiple devices at the same time and will also charge the phone that is being used while walking around or even when something is in the way as well.

The company outlined that how the technology works in an official blog post, the transmitter looks quite large in size. The transmitter is capable to provide 5W wireless charging to a smartphone.

The charging has nothing to do with the Qi standard. The smartphone doesn't need to be outfitted with a miniaturized antenna array with an inbuilt beacon antenna and a receiving antenna array.  The smartphone has a total of 14 antennas to convert a millimeter-wave signal that will be emitted by the charging pile.

The signal will be then converted into electric energy through a rectifier in the circuit.

In the current case, Xiaomi remote charging technology can charge multiple devices with a 5W current within the range of several meters. Xiaomi claims that the physical objects don't reduce the charging efficiency and speed as well but this must have some restrictions. We will test those when this will be available in the open market for all the users.

There is no official release date announcement done by the company about the Mi air charge system and it's not known if such technology will ever make it to the customer market.

We are sure that this technology is going to be the future and will be expensive in the starting days when the other players don't get enter into this.
